I gave this episode the cold shoulder...I think I'm emotionally spent from the World Cup soccer game final...that was emotionally exhausting. I can see how this 'journey' would be tiring for Becca...she has to travel to different hometowns..and navigate different family situations and sit down and not eat dinner with them.
Instead of watching closely, I was on IG or Facebook....I think I'll be into next week..but for now..this is what I've got
Garrett.
He's still super enthused and charged. He wanted to plant some seeds with Becca...nope..this isn't the fantasy overnight date..he took her on his tractor and they went for a ride and planted seed. I"ll just leave that there. Oh wait...then they planted a rose bush.
Becca and Garrett arrive to his house..and she has a huge bouquet of flowers and a gift bag. Garrett's brother seems aggressive.
They sit down to dinner and then immediately mom pulls Garrett for a chat. Later Becca and Dad have parallel talk. Dad wants to talk about Garrett and how he shouldn't be hurt but Becca then tells Dad what Becca wants. Both poor listeners.
They leave...the men in the family aggressively hug Garrett.
Jason..
Based on Jason's date, I would have broken up with him. HIs surprises were a wing eating contest , hockey and a hambone ride. First eating contests are ewwww...second..chicken wings are double ewww...then they spend time in a cold arena.
Jason did help her with her skates which was nice.
You know what my favourite part of the show...Jason's brother. and his husband..Steven and Billy. Awwww...Steven asked great questions and told Jason..there's not much runway left.
After talking with his brother and brother in law he opens up to Becca....he threw wide the door...and Becca liked it.
Blake
Ooooo...Becca loves her some Blake.
Blake takes her to his high school...where he happens to run into his teachers who happen to be there on their day off. Then they head to the library and he talks about a school shooting:(
To lighten the mood he has another surprise..in the auditorium...it's...

I've never heard of her...but she invited them to dance with her..
At the house...Blake doesn't seem warm with his mom or dad. And his mom and serious volume in her hair. There was a lot of lift in her locks. They sat down to a plated meal...Shelly immediately talks to Blake. I'm trying to figure Blake's jacket cardigan...it was wintery and he wore a summer jacket under his coat.
When Blake and his dad talk..Blake's dad says the school shooting affected Blake more than the divorce.Blake seems like he's trying to convince his parent's that Becca is right.
Colton
They shop for kids at a toy store...they are going to see two kids at the hospital...the girl they visit is the cutest and she stole the show..she seemed so loving and bright and positive.
Colton and Becca do some activities with the kids then leave.
Colten said tonight will be foreign. Racially diverse? nope..it'll be foreign to him to bring a woman home..because he's a virgin (in case you missed the other 9 times it was mentioned).
What was with this date and all the women in he house including Becca wearing an off the shoulder or a cold shoulder top? Is this foreshadowing? Colten's mom's top was like a cold arm shirt..the gape was precariously closed with a few gold fastener clasps.
Becca thinks she should ask Colten's mom if Colten is ready to settle down...because he 'hasn't had a lot of relationships'. Colten's mom says this is not a talk she usually has.
Colten's dad brings up Tia to Colten..and Colten says that was addressed. How does Pa know about Tia if it was only a weekend thing?
Tete a tetes
Becca meets with her best friends...was it me or did they not seem that interested in the details.
Tia pulls Becca aside to tell her that it bugs her that she picked Colten
She was just being honest Tia says. Becca needs some time alone to process it. That's a good strategy..rather than just reacting...I should try that sometime.
Rose ceremony
Requires a steep set of stairs to access the rose ceremony room. They are all wearing blue except Blake is wearing a black shirt and red bow tie...which was really matching Becca's late 80s dramatic grad dress vibe.
Colten makes a quick stop with Chris to see if he has to sleep with Becca at the Fantasy Overnight dates. Chris, likely holding back laughter, says however you choose to navigate that as a man and as a couple. That vague answer helped Colten.
Well that was premature articulation because he didn't get the rose !
The men off to the FOD next week are Jason, Blake and Garrett.

Down to 4 - World Cup and the Bachelorette

What a rollercoaster.
I'm still recovering from Croatia's win on Saturday- although my telomeres are likely shorter and I likely experienced several hypertensive events...Yesssss....Croatia made it to the final 4! I had the faith (and they are my bet at the office e World Cup pool)
But like the 2018 World Cup the Bachelorette has been a series of upsets.
The group is off to the Bahamas where Becca picks her final 4- who go to hometowns.
They arrive to the Bahamas where Chris tells Becca - it's a 'huge' week. I'm not exactly sure what he means...but emotions and stress are running high as the men vy for Becca and a chance to put a ring on it.
I'm not sure who they hired for Becca's makeup but I think it was too heavy...the foundation and the blush...and of course she can't leave 'Merica without her eyelashes. Man she packs a lot of eyelash. I think Becca would looked gorgeous bronzed and beachy...since she likes flash..maybe a gold eyeshadow.
Okay..but back to the Bahamans.
First 1:1 date is with Colton.
Everyone's talking about Colton's virginity. And if I had a shot for every time Becca said conch, I'd need to get thee to emergency. They head on a catamaran...some guy who is not a pirate approaches and jumps on to show them how to dance and how to go diving for conch - which contains Bahamian viagra. It's a worm like looking substance that is likely high in collagen. Aphrodisiac? not likely...but I'd bet that it's very high in glycine....important for joint health.
So after 20 mentions of conch..they go sit at a table with plated food and Colton says he's a virgin...Becca excuses herself...likely cursing the conch she ingested...and has to think about Colton's virginity. Colton is not waiting for marriage..but he wants to present his 'gift' to the right person.
She gives him a rose..likely thinking that she's that person.
Garrett is the next 1:1
Garret has unbridled enthusiasm. he's pumped about his 1:1. They fly in a sea plane.
They talk.
He gets a rose.
(Garrett is boring)
Last 1:1 Blake
Those dance classes do pay off. Becca takes Blake to a beach party. Blake is so excited to get out from house arrest and he let's out all his dance moves that he learned from Arthur Murray. He tried to make it applicable for the Baha men's new single release. The couple also go up on stage uninvited by the band and annoyingly dance. Becca's getting her groove on and Blake is doing a mash up of every swing dance move he learned at class.
At the "dinner"- Blake opens up! He talks about his mom's infidelity and how he doesn't want to be like that. Becca swoons...and she says she's in Loooovvveee with Blake.
I don't get it.
But Blake gets a rose.
My 3 faves on a 3:1 Leo, Wills, Jason
They play some beach volleyball. Leo looks good with his hair up. Jason looks so cute in his green shorts and white t-shirt. And Wills style does not disappoint. He's looking fly..as usual.
Jason doesn't say he loves her . Gasp! what? Not yet? Becca is not sure if this is where it should be at.
Adorable Wills basically gives her a soliloquy telling her she gives him hope for love and kindness..omg I almost cried. I love Wills.
Leo says he can't give her a house but he can give her love..not to her but off camera. Perhaps Becca detected a scrub vibe..and she broke up with him beachside.
They ditch Leo...leave him at the beach. Maybe a big black boat will pick him up later and take him to the airport.
The two go for dinner....Becca decides to give the rose to ....JASON???????whah?????? She might have made a mistake with not picking Wills. I don't get it.
Wills is devastated...and has to exit the car so he can cry off camera.
Maybe he'll be the next Bachelor...pleasssseeeee!!!!!
Next week hometowns....one step closer to a Neil Lane diamond and Becca's Cinderella story
I'm also hoping that Croatia's Cinderella story comes true and the team comes home with an 18K FIFA World Cup trophy.

RUMI-nations about this episode
Well this is going to be a short report:) Due to an important fam jam....I could not catch the early show ..so here are some RUMI-nations
The Springtime of Lovers Has Come
They are all in Richmond Virginia..Virginia is the for lovers. Really? Is that the tagline for the state?
Well..it's Springtime in Virginia. And we have the first date with Jason.
This date is all about surprises. The first one is that travel by public transport!
They head to a church. Jason is sporting a cross. Good choice Jason..then they glaze some donuts and head to unhappy hour.
I think he surprise of this date is that there is no theme. Just a bunch of low budget stops and open alcohol in the streetcar.
Becca 'arranged' to meet his friends...which really wasn't a treat for Jason really..it was stealth recon for Becca. That was a good idea.
Jason seems balanced and lovely and he's super cute. His friends seem that way too:)

Group date: The Intellectual is Always Showing Off
Well this was supposed to be a debate. With some intellect and rhetoric. It really was more of a Q and A. I think Chris thought he was showing off. Instead he was showing his true colours of insecurity and aggression. It really is true that the less you say the smarter you appear..
After the less than stimulating 'debate' they have a get together. Lincoln and Chris argue some more. We learn that Chris once weighed 300 lbs which is irrelevant. And that Chris has two huge gaping holes in his knees. Yeah okay ripped jeans are a thing....but Chris tends to take something small and blow it wide open...like his knee hole jeans.
Lincoln also complains to Becca about Chris....tsk tsk...never complain about other dudes to the Bachelorette...it only gets you a quick black car ride to the airport.
Wills says he loves her. I"m mesmerized by Wills eyes.
Colton gets the rose. I'm betting dollars to glazed donuts that she had a thing for football players in high school.
Let Go of Your Worries
LEO GETS A DATE!! Finally I get to learn more about the man with the most voluminous hair.
Becca's not feeling herself..and Leo says "we don't have to do anything". He doesn't try too hard.And they end of having a great date. They shuck some oysters..eat them raw..then kiss each other...hmm.not sure what the breath situation is there. He managed to Becca feeling relaxed. He opened up at dinner that he doesn't feel good enough..and that was enough vulnerability to get a rose from Becca. I wasn't sure if they had a vibe...but Becca felt it and that's what matters.
Who Is At My Door?
Well...who ends up at Becca's door...you got it..Chris...he did some ruminating, put pen to paper...donned his camel jacket (which I agree with Becca..it was a. really nice coat)...but he came to her door and for what reason? I"m not sure...he said he was fighting for what he wanted. See.that's the problem dude..what you want is not the #1 consideration and Chris came off as so aggressive. He tells her he wants to marry her....she tells him she doesn't see this continuing...so she has to tell him again because he didn't hear it the first time. So she offers to walk him out...and he declines..and says he doesn't need it. And he gets a black car ride to the airport...I wonder who packed his suitcase.....hope he remembers is gaping hole in he knee jeans.
Love is Reckless
Becca is all fired up..and she decides to go straight to rose...Lincoln and Connor go rose-less
So next week..
they are off to Bahamas..
