It's the finale...I'm nervous, Garett's nervous, Blake is nervous, Becca is nervous...you get the idea.
The big decision gets made in the Maldives. Such a pretty place, but not much to do outside of a hut, and if you're not into water activities. This show is a watershed on a lot of levels and there's a lot of water (tears) shed.
It's meet the parents..and Garett meets Becca's family.
Becca's sister, Emily, seems so lovely and genuine and caring toward Becca.
Garret brought wine and flowers..and tears to the meeting.
They love Garrett.
Blake also brings flowers and wine....except no gift bag. His flowers match the outfit.
Emma is also lovely to Blake..she thinks he'd be a teammate (I agree with Emily)...but the family members plant a seed with a few of them asking him how he would handle it if Becca didn't pick him. Blake's getting nervous. HE thinks it might be a cures.
Final 1:1 dates
There's not a lot to do on the island so they go on a boat ride, by the EQUATOR. That was an important thing to be mentioned. The highlight of the 1:1 was the bobbing equator sign..and Becca says 'just like us, 50/50.' Whah?
They have a boat ride, swim with the dolphins and see them doing "tricks". I don't think they are tricks out in the ocean.
Garrett says he really loves her.......and says he can say 'did you pack a lunch mate'. What's a lunch mate? Is that like an American "Lunchable"?
Blake..
Well since the boat ride was already taken, they rode around the island. Becca wants to explore every inch of the island on the bike. Blake has re-set himself emotionally and is ready to be present and mindful on the date.
At his little villa he gives her a keep sake box. Adorable. And how quaint that there are developed photos in it. So much effort.
I think I'd pick Blake.
FINAL ROSE
Becca has glitter on white...and I think she's barefoot. Chris is narrating the show and prepares everyone that this next scene is dramatic and sad.
And who comes out of the boat is sweaty Blake. It's like his tears had foreshadowing..
Blake got shut down by Becca...and his face and eyeballs were pouring water. He doesn't get it.
He says I love you, good bye.
Chris then interviews Blake and Becca. Blake seems somewhat well-adjusted and doesn't seem angry. Becca looks pretty in purple.
The engagement...
Garett looks the best he's ever looked. His face is considerably drier than Blake's. He starts his proposal..Becca interrupts, he furrows his brow...likely wondering if he is going to be given the heave-ho. Then she says she loves him...and he's like ohhhhh....I get it y ou pick me...then they reassemble each other and hold hands and he proposes. The ring seems huge...She says yes..and then there is some bad editing...they are shoreside and exclaiming they're engaged, then they go back to to the engagement deck/dock. Then back on the beach.
Becca gets annoying...
Then we go back to the live studio...where everyone just learned what happened. Which I think really? Is it really a surprise? A lot of people seem to watch or read the spoiler video/blogs.
Becca and Blake come out and she's whooping it up and is overcome with excitement. I think she wants to high ten everyone in the audience. It seemed a little forced..or maybe it's me...but it was way over the top.
The have a couch chat with Chris. They address Garett's social media presence. I"m not sure what he did, and I'm not going to do any research..but it seems like both of them had a lot of media training and their key words were: "learn", "grow", "move forward". They both used those words and phrases over and over.
We also got a peek into what they do on their rendezvous vacations. We've learned that Garett snores.and Becca says annoying things "So are you going to keep me?".
What they want as their next move as couple is to go to Costco together. sigh.
And they will both check out Minneapolis and Reno to see where they will live, but then will go to California. I don't get it..and I don't get them. But Becca is happy and so is Garett..I'm sure they will both learn, grow and move forward.
I wonder if Blake will be the next bachelor...and until that time..
I LOVE THIS SHOW:)
(and I bet Bachelor in Paradise will be super entertaining)
